The Food Safety Manager
implements and manages process control systems and preventative actions in
food safety area. Manages HACCP and Regulatory compliance issues. This
includes food safety issues that are controlled by SSOP, HACCP or other
pre-requisite programs. Develops employees through education, training,
monitoring, and mentoring.
- Improving operations to deliver
safe, quality food to consumers.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance to
meet food safety objectives. (USDA)
- Implements and manages process
control systems and preventative actions in food safety area.
- Responsible for maintenance and
continuous improvement of SSOP plan, including employee training and
reporting of SSOP violations and deviations.
- Manages the following programs,
Listeria Prevention and Control, Pest Control, and Allergen.
- General Microbiology ensuring
that all procedures associated with micro sample collection and
analysis are developed and maintained.
- Bachelor's degree in Food
Science, Biology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Project management skills -
capable of working on and managing multiple high priority projects.
- Technical knowledge of food
safety, food science, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates an understanding
of process control methods and application of preventative practices.
- Minimum of 5 years of
experience in Food Safety Management required.
