SUMMARY : Monitor process and perform routine QC checks to insure operation process is in control and product meets standards set by the company. Maintain compliance with all USDA regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pre Operation – Inspect facility and equipment before production starts, as assigned*
  • ATP and Environmental swabbing on equipment to check bacteria count, as assigned* *
  • Thermometer Calibrations* *
  • Allergen Testing* *
  • GMP Inspection/Monitoring to ensure employee follows proper hygiene for production safety* *
  • HACCP Monitoring* *
  • Metal Detection Verification* *
  • Product/Production line inspection* *
  • Ensuring product safety and quality meets company standards and specs* *
  • Product testing such as pH, moisture, and product consistency*
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Minimal High School education or valid work permit.

1 - 3 years of previous experience in Food Processing environment preferred

Previous experience in Meat Processing preferred.

Previous experience with Scan guns and or TI stations preferred.

Language Skills: Must be able to follow verbal instructions in English and read Basic English.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to recognize and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment and diplomacy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, lift, walk, operate a pallet jack, and reach overhead. The employee is frequently required to push/pull, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Typical work environment is a refrigerated processing room. Typical temperatures range between 30 to 50 degrees.

Responsibility for Quality and Food Safety: All persons employed or associated with American Custom Meats are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated during training sessions.
