JOB DESCRIPTION:
The R&D Intern is a team player who will and participates in laboratory scale experiments and analytical work to support the R&D activities.

JOB DUTIES:
• Conduct assigned experiments at a desired scale, individually or in a team, according to the experimental design to support commercial development of food /beverage / ingredients
• Assist senior team members in product and / or process research and development
• Conduct analytical tests on food / beverages / ingredients to evaluate the product and ensure product specifications and regulations
• Document and maintain records
• Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented
• Fundamental knowledge of applied mathematical principles
• Must be able to communicate (oral & written) in English
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid California Driver License and clean driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Relevant experience in the food processing industry or academics a plus
• Student pursuing a BS in Food Science a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Occasionally will be lifting up to 30 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time
• Must have the ability to differentiate colors to examine product quality difference

HOURS & WORKDAYS:
1st Shift, Monday through Friday, when business requires overtime will be mandatory
