Responsible for leading and directing all company food
safety and quality assurance initiatives to ensure the safety and
wholesomeness of Company Products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve a dynamic
strategic plan for food safety and product quality.
- Lead, and direct all company
food safety and quality matters including operations, product
enhancements, and new technologies.
- Lead and direct all regulatory
activities related to food safety and quality to protect product
integrity and promote a positive presence in the marketplace. This
includes, but is not limited to” HACCP, USDA, GMP, SQF, and Animal
- Direct and manage company’s
internal quality function, vendor food safety and quality practices,
visitor protocol, and all related third party support functions.
Ensure that all processes related documentation and programs are
managed and maintained.
- Develop and enhance technical
specifications systems related to food safety.
- Provide technical expertise as
it relates to creating company standards regarding ingredient,
nutritional, and product attributes (physical and microbiological).
- Analyze food safety and food
quality data including customer complaints, customer feedback,
finished products, ingredient issues, and product and processing
specifications. Ensure corrective actions that drive food safety and
quality improvements, and meet customer concerns and expectations.
- Work with production management
to develop Statistical Process Control programs to insure high quality
and maximize yields.
Manage Three (3) location managers.
Indirect: Approximately twenty (20) FSQA Specialists
- Minimum 10 years
progressive experience in food safety and product quality; meat and
poultry industry preferred
- Self-motivated and highly
organized, with a strong focus on detail and accuracy
- Ability to influence and
communicate a clear and compelling vision and ensure execution of food
safety systems and procedures across all levels of the Company.
- Ability to interact and
communicate effectively within the Company and with regulatory agency
personnel and outside vendors.
- Proficiency in all aspects of
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point)
- HACCP and SQF certified.
Location : Mid-Atlantic state ( NOT
to $130,000 +/- plus BONUS
