Position Summary

This position will be responsible for successfully developing and applying flavor systems leading to new business for Nutraceutical, Beverages, Alcoholic Beverages, Bakery, Dairy and Confectionary. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge and development skills in all applications. Another objective is to assist Flavorists during the creative process, blending materials to a given formula. The main responsibility is to dose all the raw materials/ingredients contained in the formula with high accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

Formulation of application

Formulate and guide flavor design to deliver winning solutions that comply with cost, product design, regulatory and sensory requirements in order to increase business. The Food Technologist will study methods to improve aspects of foods such as chemical composition, flavor, color, texture to meet our customerís requirements. Understand project objectives and organize product development tasks to meet the given timelines. Work with functional ingredients like gums, sweeteners, acids, stabilizers, etc.

Compounding flavors

Weight, blend and mix raw materials properly (following the instruction) to make liquid or powder flavors form. Carry out good manufacturing practices to maintain the lab clean and organize. This position requires accuracy and speed on dosing capabilities.

Manage the laboratory inventory

Update the inventory of flavors, ingredients and packaging to supply the R&D lab.

Request fresh samples to suppliers when expired or finished.

Desired Skills and Experience

Academic & trades qualifications


BS Bachelorís Degree in Food Science or related field


Educational Background in chemistry

Work experience & skills


Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles

Possess proficient computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook

Demonstrate the application of basic math concepts including %, to perform formulation calculations


Flavors, food ingredients and functional food experience

Culinary experience

Smelling experience and Tasting knowledge
