Position Overview

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Coordinator is responsible for maintaining quality assurance documentation, identifying and correcting documentation deficiencies, assisting with developing and implementing training, and providing general support to the QA management team.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews, revises, audits, maintains and controls hard and electronic documents for successful execution of manufacturing, quality, sanitation and control operations
  • Releases daily product by matching up HACCP paperwork and laboratory data
  • Develops and maintains appropriate SQF registers
  • Maintains all records that pertain to supplier certification such as Third Party Audits, and Letters of Guarantee
  • Works as the direct and primary contact with certifying agencies such as; Kosher, Organic, Non-GMO, Gluten free, etc.
  • Coordinates the organization on all, identity preserved foods
  • Updates production documentation to keep it current with the latest changes
  • Updates product specification for our customers and communicate those changes in a professional manner
  • Works with customer specification keeping all associated documents up to date
  • Ensures all labeling is current and correct
  • Responsible for maintaining a food safe work environment and in the event it is perceived that it is compromised, action is to be taken which includes stopping the process and notifying the supervisor, assistant supervisor, or lead on duty
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail
  • MS Office proficiency especially in MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Must be able to successfully complete HACCP and SQF Certification

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of two years of college credits earned, Bachelorís Degree preferred
  • 5 years Business and/or Quality experience
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus

Work Environment

  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to work in both hot/warm conditions
  • Comfortable with a moderate noise level
  • Able to work in an environment with peanuts and tree nuts
