Food Safety Specialist

POSITION DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Technical Audit Reviews and Second Party Audits
  • Perform ongoing Program Maintenance and continuous improvement:

System review to ensure compliance to company policy and procedures.

  • Complaint management and reporting
  • Program Development and Implementation
  • Program Continuous Improvement
  • Attend and participate in weekly company meetings
  • Work with Partners, Distributors and Customers as directed

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree
- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Training and Certification
- 2-3 years of experience with fresh food, preferably fresh produce in
Supervisory or Managerial positions in Food Safety, Quality Assurance,
Quality Control, Safety, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, and/or related
fields
- Equivalent combinations of experience, education and training which
provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Knowledge of Food Safety Systems and Program Implementation, HAACP
Programs, GFSI Standards and Audit Schemes, FDA and USDA
regulations
- Must be technically competent in MS Office and excel. Produce Pro a plus
- Required travel approximately 30-50%
- Must be able to work in cold (34F – 50) and warm environments (ambient
field temperatures ~ 90 – 100)
