Safety & Quality Specialist

- Development & maintenance
of Food Safety & Quality Programs that meet and/or exceed
standards set by federal agencies (FDA, NOAA, HIDOH, etc.) and 3rd
party standard-bearers (SQF, BRC, etc.)
- Implementation of Workplace Safety
& Food Safety/Quality training programs for seafood processing
- Monitoring of workplace safety,
plant sanitation, food safety & product quality across operations
through monitoring of production, collection of food safety/quality
data, inspection programs & testing programs.
- Development of product
specifications & working with suppliers & customers to ensure
the safety & quality of all incoming raw materials, ingredients,
supplies & outgoing products.
- Must have good observational
skills, be detail-oriented, & work well in a team-oriented
- Strong multi-tasking skills are
critical in our fast-paced environment: analyzing large amounts of
data, decipher risks & act on a timely & effective basis.
- Strong computer, work
processing, graphical presentation, data processing & information
- Familiarity of experience with
chemical & microbiological laboratory analyses. Will be expected
to complete associated training programs & maintain associated
certifications including seafood HACCP.
