We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our team to lead food safety investigations and establish quality controls for our manual assessment processes.

We leverage technology wherever possible to develop innovative, automated, and scalable compliance solutions. Taking a risk based approach, we escalate high severity and trending issue investigations for manual risk assessment. This role will give you an opportunity to work with many different teams across Amazon and leverage a range of technologies and systems to deliver global solutions to our customers.

You will:
· Work with the Food Safety team to define and initiate automation projects that streamline our ability to source and deliver safe products anywhere in the world
· Work with stakeholders to identify resources needed, assemble project teams, and assign responsibilities.
· Assess costs, benefits and risks; anticipate bottlenecks; identify, track and mitigate issues; manage escalations; anticipate and make tradeoffs; and balance business needs with technical constraints
· Clearly communicate goals, responsibilities, issues and status to team members and stakeholders
· Drive effective teamwork, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate local and remote groups with competing priorities
· You will drive Food Safety investigation cases for and
· You will contribute to process development and create best practices to be shared with global teams
· You will assess food safety risk to our customers guided by written standards as well as your industry knowledge

Successful candidates will possess a strong project management background, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities, as well as having a well-rounded technical background. Maturity, good judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Basic Qualifications

Basic qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in food science, microbiology or related field
· 3 years of experience in food manufacturing and/or auditing
· Exceptional risk assessment skills (regulatory requirements, safety and quality risks)
· Ability to work independently and autonomously
· Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
· Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
· Must be comfortable working with large data sets

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications
· Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically
· Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
· A proven track record of delivering initiatives from conception through completion on time, within budget and on or beyond scope
· Experience as a food facility QA manager, auditor or similar position
· Understanding of various food product categories and processing steps
· Experience working with international suppliers
