Position Summary

This Laboratory Technician position processes various types of samples and maintains related quality control documentation. This position reports to the Manager QA & Regulatory Compliance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process high volume of samples and complete all related reports and documentation
  • Possess authority to stop work if a deviation from normal procedures occurs
  • Calibrate, document, and maintain all plant thermometers and laboratory equipment
  • Test pH, water activity, salt, moisture, protein, and fat in products by instrumentation
  • Mix antimicrobial solutions for production
  • Inspect, pull, and sample product to ensure that all products meets HACCP guidelines
  • Maintain HACCP documentation and release products

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associates degree in chemistry, biology, food science or related field is highly preferred
  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience (cheese industry is highly preferred)
