QUALITY/REGULATORY MANAGER

Growing company has an outstanding opportunity for a Quality Control/Regulatory Manager for our production facilities. Essential Job Duties: The position provides support to the quality function and members of Production, Sanitation, Maintenance and Warehouse departments.

Job Summary:

  • Reviews and approves analytical assays performed and verifies that they are in specification.
  • Conduct root cause analysis/investigations
  • Based on root cause, initiates and oversees preventative actions and verification procedures.
  • Leads food safety system documentation review and record maintenance
  • Performs prerequisite program development and scheduled revisions.
  • Performs HACCP/HARPC plan maintenance and annual validation.
  • A HACCP/HARPC team member
  • Oversees pre-op inspections and line clearance for operation
  • Performs and assists with root cause investigations and Corrective Action Preventative Action reports.
  • Oversee the customer complaint program and trend analysis for each applicable department
  • Point of contact for all customer and regulatory audits
  • Conducts annual refresher training as required
  • Responsible for managing the environmental program

Product Release:

  • Responsible for the release or hold of finished products and raw materials.
  • Performs in trace and recall procedures, as needed
  • HACCP/HARPC responsibilities
  • Performs calibration validation of cook kettle thermometers
  • Documentation review and record maintenance
  • HARPC/HACCP Team Leader

Floor Support:

  • Supports production in label/film review and verification during start-up, line change-overs and when film rolls are replaced.
  • Lead for internal audits and oversight of Good Manufacturing Practices, procedures and approves paperwork on the production floor.
  • Performs and assists in conducting training and coaching of employees.
  • Responsible for Pest Control Program
  • Performs and assists with root cause analysis / investigations
  • Conducts special projects as assigned.
  • Performs and assists with Good Manufacturing Supplies (outer garments, color coded sanitation and production supplies).
  • Responsible for the facility environmental program (Air, Water, ATP)

Laboratory

  • Responsible for training of lab assay’s, calibration and documentation.
  • Supervises laboratory in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Ability to conduct laboratory assays and calibration events as needed.
  • Review and approves sample analysis that are performed by another individual
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance, ordering and stock control of lab supplies.
  • Laboratory compliance to GLP standards

Education/ Qualifications/ Certifications and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred – experience/industry certifications may be substituted for education
  • Knowledge of applicable FDA regulations and requirements
  • Must be an SQF Practitioner
  • Must have the ability to potentially oversee multiple facilities as necessary
  • 10+ years prior food plant quality control experience preferred
  • Must be HARPC/HACCP Certified
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate with cross-functional departments
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English), but not required
  • Must be able to clearly communicate food safety concepts and principles
  • Must be able to give direction
  • Ability to create and revise SOP’s
  • Must have handwriting that is clear and easy to read
  • Strong aptitude and proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing software
  • MS office (Excel, Word)
  • SAP/ERP experience desired
  • Trending reports (SPC,KPI’s)

Working Conditions

  • Overtime, night and weekend work as required
  • Work requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where necessary
  • Work requires some standing and sitting for long periods of time, including working on a food manufacturing processing floor.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, atop and under equipment.Required education:
