About the job

Responsible for continuous quality improvement and leadership to ensure food quality and compliance with industry regulations and certifications. Facilitates QA best practices within the organization including the management of all Quality Assurance personnel.

Full-Time M-F 1st Shift

Duties & responsibilities

  • Ensure that GMP requirements are met throughout the production process
  • Ensure that facility is in compliance with all regulatory food safety requirements including FSMA
  • Oversee the maintenance, review and validation of the SQF System
  • Perform all quality operations including: audits (internal and external), investigations, document reviews, sops, validation, verification
  • Manage our quality department and personnel including schedules, priorities, hiring and training
  • Manage and respond to customer complaints
  • Communicate with sales people regarding product quality issues
  • Initiate, investigate (root cause analysis) and resolve corrective actions
  • Prepare monthly reports for management on the state of the quality department including deviations
  • Create, maintain and update specifications, procedures, trainings, and support programs
  • Conduct QC testing to ensure product specifications are met
  • Responsible for product disposition and release
  • Act as SQF practitioner and PCQI
  • Assures plant preparedness for customer and regulatory inspections.
  • Support and enforce current Good Manufacturing Practices, SSOP and all relevant company policies and food safety regulations

Requirements

Bachelorís degree in food science or related field preferable

3 years of relevant experience including in a managerial role

Experience with SQF

Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements including FSMA

Ability to interact with regulatory personnel, including practical audit experience.

Comprehensive knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP principals, CGMPs, SOPs and SSOPs, Pest Control, Allergen Control & Recall programs.
