Summary of Position:

  • Maintain Adamsí technical and quality documents and check compliance of these documents for applicable Food regulatory agencies
  • Provide technical and regulatory support with emphasis on regulations associated with FDA labeling as well as assuring full compliance with the laws governed by the food regulation agencies
  • Assist in the continued development of the Quality System in order to meet customersí demands and company growth

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelorís Degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or related fields
  • 2-3 years of Food Safety and Quality Experience including Internal Auditing, Document Control management and Corrective/Preventative Action experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication, math and science skills
  • Strong computer, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, training and interaction skills
  • Advanced knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, SQF, FDA, USDA, FSMA, Organic, Kosher and SDS compliance
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications
  • Knowledge of Project Management preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to perform under pressure in ambiguous situations with an understanding of the impact of regulatory proposals and changes
  • HACCP and SQF certification (required within 3 months of starting position)
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. and restack pallet

Job Duties:

  • Generate and audit all Technical information, including but not limited to: specification sheets, nutritional data, allergen statements, GMO statements, product safety, formula breakdowns, Kosher, Organic, SDS and any other documents that may be customer specific
  • Perform regular audits of the manufacturing process for the purpose of providing quality assurance, ensuring that each policy and procedure is being followed
  • Create, organize and maintain documents for Adams, including internal control, customer files and supplier files
  • Initiate and record mock recalls and traceability exercises
  • Make recommendations to management, based on current laws and regulations, highlighting ways to improve the manufacturing process
  • Implement QA Compliance Strategy to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and make recommendations regarding the specific activities and resources required to support this strategy
  • Research, implement, administer and coordinate the activities of SQF, HACCP, Organic compliance (QAI), Kosher compliance, and other QA programs and procedures
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all state, federal and Customer regulatory requirements across all product categories and assure products are in compliance
  • Minimize product safety risks by reducing manufacturing variability through appropriate specifications and assuring supplier process control procedures are adequate for the desired outcomes
  • Review operations and confer with management, technical and/or administrative staff to resolve quality problems
  • Act as the primary support contact for Customer Services, providing courteous, timely and accurate responses to internal and external customers, ensuring full satisfaction
  • Complete customer documentation and information requests and associated required paperwork in a timely manner with great attention to detail
  • Participate in programs with food regulation agencies, allowing the company to meet evolving food safety guidelines
  • Interact professionally with internal and external customers, vendors and prospects in support of company initiatives
  • Abide by and enforce safety and sanitation regulations and follow all work procedures
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management
