Food Safety and Quality Technician - Hopkins, MN

$18 - $20 an hour

 

 

 

The QA Technician is responsible for the plantís quality assurance (QA) program and maintaining the plant programs / certifications. This position also verifies the sanitation program in compliance with regulatory and other food safety / quality standards. Compiles facility data and prepares regular reports for the General Manager.

Typical Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operates as the plantís HACCP Coordinator and manages all food quality programs.

  • Manages all Food Safety and Quality Management Programs, Implementation and documentation.
  • Ensures GMP understanding and compliance by staff at all times
  • Executes regular daily, weekly and monthly verifications of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance program
  • Gather and verify all verification, validation and calibration exercises
  • Oversees the Food Safety Plan, itís effectiveness and alterations as needed
  • Assists in Employee Training, ongoing and at new hire
  • Understands processing specifications, product changeover coordination, and organization on the kitchen side.
  • Provides a monthly Food Safety and Quality Assurance review of current company practices to leadership
  • Assists company leadership in continuous policy and process improvement.
  • Assists in implementation and monitoring of sanitation and preventative maintenance practices with production.
  • Executes and oversees the Environmental Monitoring Program

Additional Responsibilities and expectations

  • Obtain HACCP and any additional certifications as necessary
  • Lead annual Food Safety Program Document Review
  • Assist in Document Control
  • Be available to meet with pertinent consultants and aid in the execution of implementing programs accordingly

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 /hour

  • Food Safety: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Quality Assurance: 1 year (Preferred)
