About the Job:

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate multiple concurrent food product launches from bench top testing to production commercialization
  • Manage new product development projects and assist in setting specifications to include: sourcing/qualifying ingredients, establishing machinery requirements, determining manufacturing processes for new products
  • Preform analysis and establishing standards for all product development; i.e. Salt, Moisture analyzer, Brix, Viscosity/Botswick, Acidity and Shelf Life testing.
  • Assist operations/production in new product start up
  • Provide new product specifications to Sales, QA and Purchasing.
  • Provide technical support services to sales team across. Overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining the sensory development training procedures.
  • Assist with the ideation of new products through market research and product surveys.
  • Continuously strive to improve quality of our current product formulations.
  • Coordinate, produce, inventory and ship buyer samples
  • Organize ingredient inventory and request the necessary ingredients for research projects.
  • Complete department reports

Requirements:

  • A minimum 5 years of Culinary experience.
  • A Culinology or Food Science and Culinary degree.
  • Product development in a food manufacturing facility a plus
  • Must be Proficient in MS Office Suite with intermediate skills in MS Excel
  • Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to collaborate and contribute in a team working environment

Location: Benicia

Schedule: M-F, Weekends as needed

FLSA: Exempt

Travel: Occasionally
