Job purpose

Sunny Creek Farm is seeking qualified applicants for an immediate opening for a QA Food Safety Specialist/HACCP Practitioner. This position requires strong knowledge and operational experience with HACCP processes, procedures, training, as well as knowledge of laboratory testing requirements and techniques to meet industry food standards. A Safe Quality Food (SQF) Practitioner certification will be considered.

Position Summary

The Food Safety Specialist/SQF Practitioner will be responsible for developing, administering and maintaining applicable Food Safety Programs & Policies; implementation and continuous improvement of food safety/quality focused programs including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard FDA Food Safety and Quality Systems, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all products are packaged in a safe, quality manner
  • Manage, maintain, and oversee existing HACCP Program
  • Performs daily finished good quality inspections
  • Ensures compliance to and audits HACCP plans, performs GMP audits and ensures compliance
  • Performs internal quality audits
  • Coordinates third part audits
  • Schedules and conducts monthly training for GMP, HACCP, SOP's, &SSOPs
  • Train employees on HACCP / ISO procedures
  • Confirm that all shipping and receiving documentation is HACCP compliant and maintain all records
  • Author and maintain all Corrective Action documentation
  • Assist with any inspections of farmers/vendors and aid with any auditing procedures

Qualifications

  • HACCP certification desire, or Qualified within 3 months
  • Quality Assurance/Control experience in food/growing industry desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft platform
  • Excellent interpersonal and project management shills
  • Experience with professionally managing concurrent projects

Salary: $34,500 to 54,700/year, dependent upon experience and education.
