The Food Safety Manager, reporting
to the Corporate Food Safety Director, is responsible for management and
prevention activities in Food Safety area. Manages HACCP and Regulatory
compliance issues. Responsible for direct supervision of the HACCP
Coordinator and Micro Lab Technicians fostering a team-oriented environment
through coaching and mentoring.
Responsible for all HACCP and
HACCP-related areas including coordination of follow-up corrective
action and employee training on HACCP and Food Safety-related areas.
Responsible for maintenance and
improvement of SSOP Plan, including employee training, collection and
reporting of SSOP violations and deviations.
Manages the Listeria Prevention
and Control program directing all testing, corrective action and process
qualification and working with outside lab for all micro analysis.
Manages facility Pest Control
Program. Works with local PCO to prevent pests from entering the
facility as well as following through on resolution.
Works with plant to define
system and facility requirements for the Allergen Program. Writes
Manufacturing Operation Procedures (MOP's) for process control.
Works with the Sanitation team
to develop and approve all Sanitation MOP's. Responsible of all critical
factors in the sanitation process.
Responsible for all procedures
associated with micro sample collection and analysis and development.
Bachelor's of Science degree in
Microbiology or Food Science.
Minimum 3-5 years' experience
in a Food Safety Management role.
Experience working in a meat
manufacturing plant preferred.
Thorough knowledge of HACCP,
GMP's and SSOP's.
Strong interpersonal and
Willingness to travel to other
locations across the organization as needed.
