Technical Sales Manager 3M - Laboratory and Food Safety Products - Idaho

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Sales Specialist (3M) will be responsible for increasing sales and gross margin of 3M Food Safety Products, along with other 3M Business Groups run through Food Safety, which brings together Health Care, Industrial, and Safety areas for these products.

REGULAR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Focus on selling the 3M portfolio of products of roughly $13.4 Million Dollars with an emphasis on Food Safety Products.
  • Work at gaining sales penetration of Nelson-Jameson and 3M products in existing accounts and establishing new accounts.
  • Increasing 3M sales and gross margin as a primary focus (first year goal: 11%), along with growing Laboratory and NJ business, generally.
  • Work closely in the field with both the Nelson-Jameson and 3M Sales Teams on a national level, including customer visits and consultations to drive sales growth.
  • Learn 3M Food Safety products/solutions to train and motivate NJ outside sales reps and BDU team
  • Be a key resource for trade shows.
  • Work along with the Technical Sales Manager (3M) to provide technical assistance to customers for 3M products as necessary.
  • Develop strategies to target and promote selected products.
  • Responsible to work along with management to accomplish growth targets.
  • Drive Personal Safety, and Commercial Solutions product sales growth.
  • Must be willing to travel 50-75% of the time. Most will be day trips but some may not be.
  • Other duties as requested by Management.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Post-secondary education, in Food Science or related field preferred. Applicable work experience will be reviewed.

Experience:

Sales experience helpful.

Customer service or similar work.

Excellent skills in math and effective communication required.

Knowledge of Food Safety and Personal Safety 3M product lines and the N-J product line.
