The Director of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs’ responsibilities will cover two main areas: The management and continuous improvement of the Company’s food safety and quality systems, and the consistent dedication and accountability to product safety strategies by internal and external liaisons.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Sets the quality agenda for the BP Operations ensures execution of a plan that delivers food safety, regulatory compliance, and customer delight.
  • Responsible for the selection and development of top talent on the corporate and plant quality assurance teams.
  • Works with peers on the Operations Leadership team to support the entire supply chain effort supporting the BP and BD business units.
  • Instigate and provide on-going education and certification for all key operations & support personnel in respect of current, and future, governmental legislation, baking industry and in-house standards and trends.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in food industry required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or sciences is required. A Master’s Degree in a relevant scientific field is strongly preferred. Advanced technical or business degree is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of (and/or certifications in) food safety and all applicable regulations is required.
  • Experience developing and maintaining company records relating to process work flows, recipes, equipment maintenance, USDA, FDA, and other regulatory organizations
  • Thorough understanding of HACCP, GFSI, IFS programs/audit schemes
  • Substantial experience in Quality and/or Regulatory – a minimum of 15 years in total (with 10 years in progressive management or leadership roles) is required though 20 years is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to develop a quality system, including the ability to write policies and SOPs as well as mentor others in writing policies and SOPs.
  • Experience creating and implementing a document control system.
  • Ability to effectively articulate and present the company’s quality strategy to our employees, senior management, regulatory bodies and customers.
  • Proven ability to operate successfully in a rapidly growing organization, inclusive of demonstrated ability to coordinate efforts in addressing regulatory issues. Ability to formulate solutions from a broad perspective.
