Corporate Food Safety Administrator works exclusively for the Food Safety Division for Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. The Corporate Food Safety Administrator acts as the responsible party for implementing and maintaining food safety management system. The responsibilities of this role are numerous and include establishing programs within operations that will ensure production, procurement, and importation of safe food items; Directs and administers the food-safety efforts of the corporation, also assists in planning, directing and coordinating branch operations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures finished goods are in accordance with customer and company quality control guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains branch policies, procedures and guidelines consistent with company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Establishes monitors and ensures that all federal, state and local food safety regulations and rules are met. Investigates and reports any food safety violations.
  • Assists in supervising all branch employees, monitoring the quality of work and instructing employees on updated products and procedures on a daily basis.
  • Establishes and maintains training programs in all areas of branch operations including quality, food-safety, environmental concerns and efficient manufacturing practices.
  • Submits any required reports to the appropriate regulatory agency on a timely basis.
  • Coordinates investigation and creates corrective actions as needed and recommends policies and procedures to ensure that food safety and compliance.
  • Arranges for periodic inspection of all food safety and compliance with all branch locations.
  • Communicate finding/ results of inspection/ audits with client site management or appropriate client personnel.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with FDA, USDA, consultants, branches (including Tokyo, Shanghai), and management as it related to food safety.
  • Support and provide direction to the organization for product and environmental pathogen prevention monitoring, training, HACCP and related customer/supplier initiatives. Provide HACCP guidance to the organization including HACCP plan reviews and validation.
  • Communicates with management in regards to production schedules, production problems and employee problems daily with respect to food safety.

  • Develop effective work plans for the completion of assigned inspection/ audits within a determined timeframe.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned; prioritizing work orders and assuring work is completed in an accurate and timely manner.

Experience/ Training/ Education:

Bachelor degree in environmental health, food science, food technology, nutrition, or other related scientific area of study or 3 years of successful food industry experience; experience with Microsoft office suites (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, outlook, etc.)


Special Requirements:

Willingness to travel at least 50% out of the year with North American and Canada.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Ability:

Corporate Food Safety Administrator must have strong communication and conversation skills; thorough knowledge of Wismettac products; current knowledge of regulatory government requirements (i.e. FDA, USDA, etc.) rules and regulations; Must have considerable knowledge of HACCP, SSOP and GMPs as it applies to the food industry; knowledge in Microsoft application (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); knowledge of food safety, HACCP, FDA, USDA, GMP, 21 CFR.; ability to prioritize and delegate in a resource constrained environment and re-prioritize resources rapidly; ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a large and diverse client and partner base; ability to be cooperative and able to work as part of a team; ability to verify, draft, and update database quickly and accurately; ability to travel within assigned territory; ability to work some evenings and weekends; ability to attend training; ability to tolerate temperatures of 35 degrees or below while inspecting food items in the freezer; the ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints; ability to travel to branch locations and provide training to all personnel and management regarding proper food safety procedures.

Working Conditions:

Because of the nature of the work, Corporate Food Safety Administrator may work more than 45 to 50 hours per week. Working under pressure is unavoidable when schedules change and problems arise, but deadlines and goals must still be met. Substantial travel may be involved. Will be required to travel to branch locations to establish and monitor compliance with food safety practices. While in the office, they will sit for long periods and sometimes must content to noise levels caused by various office machines. These workers are susceptible to repetitive strain injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and back injuries, and eyestrain. To help prevent these conditions, many offices have adopted regularly scheduled exercise breaks, and work stations that allow workers to stand or sit as they wish. Corporate Food Safety Administrator will spend few hours in the warehouse to see check on food products.Pre-employment Drug testing required.
