We are looking
for a Food Technologist for a gourmet specialty food manufacturing
company in Downtown Los Angeles!
You will be
responsible for applying food science principles to product development
to create foods from concept to design to market. You will be
collaborating with the Food Science team and culinary chefs to refine
recipes with the ability to scale for product launches. You will
collaborate closely with Marketing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and
Operations to develop new products.
- Work with chefs, culinary
consultants, and agencies in taking recipes from concept to
- Formulate recipes to scale
up, make repeatable, shelf stable, and food safe.
- Develop and maintain FDA
and USDA food product lab that complies with regulatory requirements
or customer requirements
- Develop specifications for
all raw materials, process controls, and finished goods.
- Procure and provide costing
analysis of raw materials for developed formulas.
- Work cross functionally
with sales, operations, procurement, QC, etc
to ensure smooth flow of new product launches
- Manage multiple projects at
once, while ensuring deadlines are met to get prototypes developed.
- Conduct sensory on all
- Works closely with our
ingredient and packaging suppliers on the technical characteristics
of our materials and troubleshooting of ingredient performance.
- Works closely with
co-manufacturers and co-packers to scale up products for limited
production as well as a national launch.
- BS or MS in Food Science
- 2-5 years’ experience in
new product development process.
- HACCP Certified
- Worked with culinary or
- Worked with different
methods of packaging
- Knowledge of physical
properties and chemical composition of food and ingredients.
- Knowledge of extensive
areas of food science and technology and experimental procedures.
