The Quality Technician is responsible for auditing, inspecting, and testing the Quality System Programs to ensure our products meet our specification standards. Each technician must appropriately monitor and respond to all process operating guidelines while making sure our products meet our high standards for consumption.

  • Responsible for following and enforcing the company policies related to quality and food safety.
  • Calibrate and maintain the testing equipment.
  • Assist with internal audits as needed.
  • Review quality and food safety records to ensure compliance and recordkeeping practices are followed.
  • Perform attribute testing, take swab samples, and coordinate submission of samples going to the outside laboratory.
  • Recommend and implement focused improvement ideas and participate in the development of productivity projects.
  • Report all safety concerns and potential hazards while ensuring adherence to all plant safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to Lock Out/Tag Out.
  • Must be able to work as a team member to achieve Quality Department and bakery goals.
  • Must be able to lead as one of the key facilitators in food safety training initiatives.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization of laboratory and supplies.
  • Completion of other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in food manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science is preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills, work proficiently with Microsoft Office and working knowledge of SAP.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a professional and optimistic attitude.
  • Ability to organize, motivate and coach employees on desired outcomes.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision. Proactive and takes action without being prompted.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Applicants must have flexibility in scheduling. Will work different shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
