The Food Safety
Quality Assurance (FSQA) Specialist is responsible for providing food safety
and quality assurance support within the company. This position resides within
the FSQA team and works closely with the AWG Brands private label team.
Description of Work
- Manage and
maintain the product quality audit and evaluation program for AWG Brands
Private Label products including food and nonfood items.
- Conduct product
audits to evaluate product quality versus product specifications.
- Work closely
with category managers, broker community, customer service team, AWG
Brands private label team and vendors to report on the quality of new
and existing products, enhancements to existing products as well as on
- Manage and
maintain the reporting system designed to provide immediate feedback as
well as a summary of findings to both front and back ends of the
investigative and corrective actions as a follow-up to observed product
- Maintain and
manage the database of quality audits and consumer feedback.
- Evaluate product
audit data and consumer data, including monthly reports.
- Coordinate AWG
Brands WIC authorization for all active states by contacting state WIC
offices and communicating their needs to our vendors.

retailer, appropriate AWG employees and vendor community.
- Maintain quality
assurance records and files. Maintain credits to stores, vendor
bill-backs and egg stop sales.

for retailer compliance with FDA Menu Labeling Law
- Conduct food
safety warehouse and manufacturing site audits
- Assist with
completing various projects by performing other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Training:
degree in Food Science or related field
- Minimum 3 years'
experience in food safety and quality assurance
- Experience with
building and maintaining spreadsheets and databases in MS Excel and
- Prior experience
with SCM, ADW, Content Manager, PeopleSoft softwares
