Food Scientist

American Extrusion International is a global company engaged in the design, development, manufacture, installation and service of Grain Extrusion Equipment and other up/downstream accessories for the Food Industry.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will be able to work with our Research and Development manager while also testing products independently, operating our single and twin extrusion equipment. This position is hands on, often assembling and disassembling machinery.

Responsibilities

Analyze raw ingredients and finished goods.

Experiment with additives, substitutes and production processes.

Perform trials daily, documenting results.

Work closely with our R&D team.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must:

Demonstrate understanding of food science.

Be diligent in following processes.

Be proficient with computers.

Possess excellent communication skills.

Possess a Bachelorís or Masterís degree in Food Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis.

Be willing to travel, including internationally, up to 10%

While the following would be a plus:

Up to five yearsí experience in the food industry.

Bilingual/Multi-Lingual language skills, including Spanish, Arabic, or Chinese.

Extensive training will be provided upon hire. Reports to Director of R&D.

Salary Range: $45,000 to $60,000 per year with Bachelorís Degree, $65,000+ with Masterís Degree
