We are seeking an individual with proven food industry experience, overseeing QA/QC and food safety regulatory compliance. This individual will be responsible for establishing company QA system (HACCP, SOP's, GMP's) that promote customer satisfaction and positively impacts financial performance on a company-wide basis; Champions C1 efforts & DIFOT to initiate and implement Q1 activities as appropriate to raise performance of product lines; Oversees the company compliance program (USDA, FDA, Other) functioning as an independent, objective body that reviews, evaluates, and resolves compliance issues/concerns.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, manage and integrate a quality process for manufacturing;
  • Serve as primary QA/QC resource for problem identification/resolution, CI;
  • Design, implement and document procedures for process control/improbement, testing/inspection;
  • Establish and implement metrics for monitoring system effectiveness;
  • Perform root cause analysis and other problem solving activities;
  • Analyze cusotmer product specifications to establish efficient, cost-effective requirements for ease of manufacture/reproducibility;
  • Develop quality planning methods for all product lines;
  • Develop process certification standards;
  • Oversee lab testing/sampling and other testing/calibration programs;
  • Participate in internal/external quality audits;
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives as required;
  • Develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies/procedures for general operation of the various food safety regulatory agencies;
  • Act as independent review and evaluation body to ensure food safety compliance issues are appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved;
  • Develops/implements corrective action plans as required;
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science preferred, or other relevant subjects ; Proven Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Control systems, HACCP, GMP and Sanitation SOP principles; Proven Knowledge and understanding of quality systems monitoring and verification activities; 5+ years of experience within the food or related industry; Strong attention to detail and data driven mindset; Up-to-date knowledge on USDA/FDA regulations and guidelines; Strong Computer skills: 10-Key, MS Office Applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint; Familiar with laboratory sampling and testing procedures; Strong oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to sit, stand, talk, see, hear, work in production and warehouse environments which can include wet, humid, extreme cold (freezers) conditions, reach with hands and arms, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl, use hands to finger/handle/feel, taste and smell, lift up to 50 lbs. 1/3 - 2/3 of time.
Desired certifications include: Certified Professional Food Manager, HACCP certification A+, Quality Auditor Certification, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or similar statistical process certification/training.
