Job Summary

Develops and oversees all of the food safety regulations, policies, and procedures for our dynamic company. Food Safety works directly with the President/ and Plant Management to develop, implement and enforce food safety standards, policies, and programs including FSMA, HACCP, GSFI-BRC, regulatory audits, food safety training programs, standard operating procedures, product inspections, and standardized work instructions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and provide employee training for food safety & quality requirements
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as SOP's, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as it relates to any food safety concerns
  • conduct food safety audit and manage third party audits
  • Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety & quality standards
  • Update existing food safety procedures and documentation to keep up with changing requirements
  • Assist buyers with training and educating potential suppliers to ensure compliance
  • Work closely with Operations Manager and/ or President on any food safety or quality issues
  • Over see proper maintenance of sanitation of entire facility to comply with food safety requirements
  • Collect environmental swabs and product samples to be sent to 3rd party lab and document results
  • Responsible for the management of activities which ensures food safety, legality, and quality
  • Ensure that HACCP logs and forms have been reviewed daily
  • Ensure corrective actions have been reviewed and closed out
  • Quality Assurance & Research

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor of Science or 5 years industry experience with Food Safety & Quality Assurance

- Must be knowledgeable & proficient at Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, RF Flow charts & Microsoft outlook & Office

- Previous experience working with HACCP, BRC, or SQF preferred
