Position Summary

Under the direction of Food Safety Management team at Bonduelle Fresh Americas, the Quality and Food Safety Intern will gain exposure to fundamentals of Quality and Food Safety systems. Depending on project assignments, this position will get hands on experience on the farms or production floor learning Quality and Food Safety and executing specific projects. Internship experience will end with presenting the accomplished project work to the Food Safety Management team summer 2019.

Position Responsibilities

  • Food Safety documentation review and filing (to get oriented with importance of record keeping in food safety system)
  • Uploading food safety documentation to online server
  • Assisting in ranch risk assessments
  • Creating food safety training programs for grower/ harvesters
  • GPS mapping of all ranches through online system
  • Drive special quality and food safety projects at the plant level in food safety programs such as allergen control program, equipment sanitary design, sanitation program etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A recent graduate or current Junior or Senior enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program earning a BS or MS in Food Science, Food Safety, Biology, Chemistry, or related Field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred. Must be able to read, follow instructions, and write legibly in the English language.
  • Detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Perform physical activities such as, but not limited to lifting equipment, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to perform regular tasks with hands and fingers.
