Description

 

As a food safety auditor, you play a crucial role in the mission of NSF International – to protect and improve human health. You will have the opportunity to travel, meet new people and learn more about many of the businesses you may frequent as a consumer. You’ll inform and educate restaurant, bar, and grocery store owners about specific standards while continuing to learn more about those industries and grow your skills.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Conduct food safety audits and summarize findings
  • Thoughtfully communicate results to clients
  • Manage your own schedule and workload

Qualifications

We’ll provide the tools and specific training that you will need to succeed. We’re looking for you to bring your excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s in science-related degree (chemistry, biology, environmental health, food science, food technology, dietetics, nutrition, public health, etc.)

OR Related 2nd or 3rd party food safety audit experience/operational experience with non-scientific bachelor’s

OR 4+ years of food safety audit experience and/or related operational experience with no degree

  • Ability to obtain Certified Professional Food Safety (CPFS) designation within 12 months
  • Capability to perform frequent and overnight travel, 75% or more, including evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Valid Driver’s license


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some experience with food safety and quality
  • Knowledge of food safety basics: temperatures, proper food handling, sanitation, proper cooling methods
  • ServSafe, Certified Professional Food Safety (CPFS), or REHS designations
