We are a rapidly growing wholesale bakery specializing in top quality, all natural cakes, cupcakes, cookies, tarts, bars and brownies. The Quality Assurance Manager is a hands-on position which requires sound leadership skills to develop, implement, manage and improve quality assurance systems. We are seeking an action-oriented individual who can lead and inspire our team to high standards. The Quality Assurance Manager will work independently, multitask, plan, coordinate, monitor, and adjust systems as needed to ensure an end-to-end world class Quality Assurance program.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of quality; develop awareness and reward programs.
  • Ensure that Rubicon products are produced in compliance with company specifications, policies and government regulations.
  • Manage regulatory and 3rd party food safety audits and ensure full FSMA conformance.
  • Maintain and implement effective traceability via electronic record-keeping.
  • Perform root cause analysis, apply corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and monitor continuous improvement programs to improve product quality, efficiencies and profitability by reducing waste.
  • Comply with FDA standards of supplier approval and receiving documentation.
  • Analyze product and ingredient quality data, including customer feedback, finished product results, ingredient issues, and product and processing specifications; take corrective actions to drive food safety and quality improvement to closure.
  • Develop and monitor policies and procedures to ensure food safety and quality are sustained throughout the manufacturing, distribution and consumption of our products.
  • Develop SSOPs for the sanitation department and manage daily operations of this department.

Education and Work Experience:

  • You understand how to inspire a team
  • BS in food science or closely related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing
  • Proficient in GFSI based audits
  • 3 years of supervisory / leadership experience
  • Training and experience in US food labeling laws preferred
  • Formal training in PCQI, HACCP, SSOP's, GMP's
  • Proficient with computers
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
  • Bakery experience is a plus

Salary: $90,000.00 to $130,000.00 /year
