The R&D Manager
position has two purposes: 1) Contributing baking mix formulation technical
expertise, and 2) Coordinating the activities of the R&D effort at Chelsea
Milling Company. First and foremost, this is a hands-on position. This
person focuses on the effects of processes, equipment, and environment on
ingredients and formulas. As a formulator, he/she understands and
highlights the cause and effect of product/ingredient/process changes and
identifies effective solutions. As manager, he/she collaborates with others
on product development and improvementóleveraging emerging science and
technology to meet the growth, quality and cost objectives of the business.
Once direction is agreed upon, he/she organizes resources, processes, and
people to execute initiatives successfully. This position requires:
- A four-year college degree in
Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Cereal Chemistry, Food
Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of related experience
in dry baking mix product development.
- Experience translating customer
insights and business challenges into technical solutions.
- Experience facilitating the
activities of an R&D Department in a food manufacturing
