Purpose of Role

The Functional Expert Analyst is responsible for the ideation, determination, development, and deployment of best practice business processes that provide the operational foundation for the total Mars Petcare business.  They are responsible for ensuring the enterprise resource planning system (SAP) is configured to deliver the desired business processes.  This position will determine lean and effective business processes changes and integrated systems solutions aligned with global templates (as applicable) to drive the necessary behavioral change within their function.

 

The FE Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance/adherence with current standard processes across the business function, as well as influence and lead functional change with other Mars, Incorporated units in the region and the globe.  The FE Analyst will support the Functional Expert (FE) and/or Functional Expert Manager in developing the process and systems improvement agenda for the business.  The FE Analyst will support the problem escalation process by troubleshooting End User issues not resolved by Key Users.  

 

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Fully understand and manage process integration, support, conformance and after care for all changes to business process and associated systems.
  • Responsible for process consistency, methodology, and ideating process improvements
  • Call out process adherence gaps to functional leaders and recommend solutions to address
  • Develop and maintain process swim lanes and process documentation
  • Develop analysis and reporting for communicating to the key cross-functional teams to improve overall compliance and effectiveness
  • Assess, select, onboard, train and develop Key Users.
  • Ensure End Users and Key Users are fully competent in processes and system knowledge
  • Troubleshoot issues not resolved by End Users or Key Users
  • Develop training materials for Key Users and End Users.
  • Stress test Mars business systems software updates/releases to identify issues for Template or business unit
  • Review and test Global change/emergency requests for the business unit
  • Recommend the sign-off of new processes and software releases to the FE

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-4 years direct experience in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence adoption of a significant recommendation involving business process changes and/or new system applications.
  • Ability to present to small groups
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to travel 10-20%

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience preferred
  • Project management experience.
  • Exposure to consumer packaged goods industry preferred
  • Proven ability to set and measure performance standards, working to consistently improve and stretch.
  • Well-developed problem solving skills
