·         Job Description

The Quality Assurance Manager plans, updates, coordinates, and directs all operations of the Quality and Food Safety Assurance Program as it relates to Quality Assurance / Quality Control, Production Process Controls, Sanitation, and Food Safety. The Quality Assurance Manager works closely and communicates freely with management in obtaining the goals of the Company Quality Policy. The Quality Assurance Manager reports directly to the Facility Team Leader.



·         Develops and implements QA and food safety programs for continuous improvement opportunities.

·         Establishes and implements the quality specifications, testing procedures and standards for all raw materials, packaging, process and finished products.

·         Ensures all labels and nutritional information is correct and updated to meet all state and federal regulations.

·         Training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

·         Manages 3rd party plant audits for facility.

·         Coordinating activities with vendors, sales, and outside laboratories relating to product quality and safety.

·         Leads the QA, Sanitation and Receiving team

·         Works regularly with QA Team members, Sanitation supervisor and other departmental supervisors in an effort to develop and maintain most efficient quality assurance procedures for respective areas.

·         Conducts process and plant audits.

·         Develops and recommends inspection sampling techniques and quality control plans.

·         Develops process control procedures ensuring production of finished products meet quality specifications and standards.

·         Ensures compliance with governmental regulations.

·         Identifies and analyzes problems in order to facilitate solutions.

·         Performs other related duties as assigned by management (enforces company policy and practices, etc.)

·         Flexible to travel to other locations within the Florida region and support those locations with quality assurance related initiatives.

To Qualify For This Opportunity Candidates Must Have/Possess

·         A four-year degree in Food Science or similar and a minimum of five years’ experience working in QA management within a high volume bakery / food manufacturing facility.

·         Proficient knowledge of FDA regulations, 3rd party audits (AIB), GMP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP, RTE products FSMA, labeling requirements and process control.

·         Intermediate level computer skills (especially literate in Microsoft Office).

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         A high level of interpersonal skills, excellent leadership and motivational skills.

·         Demonstrate a high level of energy, drive and initiative.

·         The ability to be self-directed and maintain excellent organizational skills.

·         Ability to work flexible hours and accept additional responsibilities as needed.

·         Exceptional reliability.

·         Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
