Quality Assurance and Food Safety
Director Ė Sardilli Produce and Dairy is a wholesale
distributor providing produce, dairy, butter, eggs, cheese, specialty goods
and value added/fresh cut produce items to the foodservice and retail
industry. We are a family run organization that has been in business since
1976. Since 2006, we have successfully launched a value added/fresh cut
operation that now employees over 40 people and is continuously growing year
in and year out.
We are now seeking a Quality
Assurance and Food Safety Director.
The QA Director will ensure Good Manufacturing
Practices (GMPís) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPís) are developed and
maintained throughout the entire organization. You will ensure that personnel
are trained to follow GMPís, HACCP and SOPís and ensure food safety
procedures are implemented, practiced and documented daily. You will follow,
maintain, and revise HACCP program to ensure quality production of our value
added products are consistent with established standards.
You will also be responsible to
bring GFSI certification to the company in 2019.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Performs quality reviews of
documentation and practices to ensure compliance with all state, HACCP,
GMPís, SOPís, FSMA, Allergen controls, SQF and GFSI regulations and
- Maintain an organized filing
system to ensure all information is readily available at any time to
support company needs.
- Work closely with production
personnel and well as warehouse personnel to identify problems and
corrective actions. Willing to be hands on and assist staff with the
corrective actions and not just simply identify them.
- Responsible for the
preparation, oversight, assistance and review of all food safety Audits
from Third parties.
- Responsible for continuing
maintenance of HACCP, GFSI and GMPís for the facility including
production and distribution.
- Documentation of processes at
the facility insuring that proper procedures and documentation are being
applied to all products.
- Monitor Vendors to ensure
quality standards are meet.
- Making sure that Incoming Goods
and Inspection programs are being followed and maintained.
- Develop and maintain systems to
assure facility meets all USDA/FDA/GFSI/SQF requirements and
- Organizes and performs GMP,
sanitation, and food safety self-inspections throughout the departments
and corrects or issues work orders to correct and identify deficiencies.
Follows up on the work orders, with the appropriate management staff to
ensure expeditious performance of the requested work.
- Keeps management team abreast
of significant issues or developments identified during self-audits and
how corrective actions will be completed.
- Maintains a current working
knowledge of all government and industry food safety and quality
assurance regulations and standards.
- Investigates and works with
sales staff to answer all customer complaints that relate to products
from the production facility that involve food safety.
- Minimum of 3 yearsí experience
in a related position or related field.
- Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GFSI
- College Degree
- Ability to work in a fast paced
manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Strong logical decision-making
- Must be able to efficiently
manage time and meet deadlines.
- Willing to be hands on to
identify and correct issues.
- Exhibit a sense of ownership

effective work relationships with all departments and upper management
