The Food Safety Quality Regulatory (FSQR) Technician from AIC - Blair, NE

 

 

 

Position: FSQ Technician

Location: 650 Industrial Park Drive, Blair, NE 68008

Duration: 4 Months

Shift Hours of Operation: 6a-6p or 6p-6a

 

Work Environment: Production - LABORATORY

Dress Code/Required PPE: Long pants, long sleeves, hard-soled, leather shoes (no tennis shoes), prescription safety glasses if required by worker, regular safety glasses provided

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

"Position Purpose - The Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) Technician position is responsible for timely completion of analytical testing in support of the quality management and operational teams. Analytical testing may be performed for routine analysis of in-process and final product testing, Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) calibration development and maintenance, and support of trials and experiments. The FSQ Technician is responsible for checking and monitoring analytical instrumentation performance. The FSQ Technician is responsible for entering data into databases and communication of results verbally and/or in writing.

Skills gained in the FSQ Technician position include analytical, lab instrumentation, and ISO standards. With working within the large and diverse organization, development of team work and communication skills be gained.

Position Accountabilities -

75% Analytical testing for routine analysis of in-process and final product testing and support of trials or experiments. Entry of data into databases and communication of results verbally or in writing as required. Communicating specification results to internal customers. Release of product meeting prescribed guidelines.

15% Performance of calibration checks, preventative maintenance tasks, and simple repair to analytical instrumentation.

10% Perform miscellaneous job duties as assigned such as; additional sampling and testing as requested, maintaining the food safety management system, solution preparation, sensory preparation, and cleaning of lab areas."

Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma/GED

Other Required Experience/Qualifications:

"Minimum 1 year experience working in a laboratory or food manufacturing.

Ability to adapt and learn in a changing work environment.

Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong attention to detail.

Microsoft Office Suite experience.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.

Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of food safety, safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.

Ability to work on weekends, holidays nights, and overtime

Ability to work a 12 hrs shift

Rotating schedule every 4 weeks (28 days)"

Additional Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

"Associate's Degree in Chemistry or Food Science

Understanding of basic sciences and analytical techniques."

Candidate must clear Sterling background check, drug screen (5 panel with expanded opiates), pre-employment physical (including back screen and urinalysis), lifting and mobility assessment, and audiogram.
