Function Related Activities & Key Responsibilities:


Develop and implement strategies and programs to mitigate food safety risks across Coca-Cola North America (CCNA); this includes ensuring that customer requirements and legislative changes are appropriately reflected in these programs to strengthen compliance.


Raises the profile of food safety across the system and ensuring food safety is embedded in the culture of the organization.


Develop and maintain strong connections with academia, external associations and industry experts to continually enhance expertise for the changing landscape (regulatory, analytical, etc.).


Support integration of newly acquired operations to ensure TCCC food safety standards are met


Provide content input to CCNA Technical Governance and audit team to incorporate latest knowledge.


Anticipates future needs of the business and changing supply chains in order to meet the challenges in advance of business needs including Merger & Acquisition support.


Provides technical assistance and consulting support to innovation in handling quality issues, disseminating best practices and enabling compliance to requirements.


Internal and External Communications


Represents Coca-Cola North America externally on key industry groups to influence industry standards, stay current on new technologies or issues and import information that impacts our business.


Works closely with the Policy and Audit groups to ensure appropriate governance is in place to monitor performance in manufacturing and distribution.


Builds collaborative alignment and relationships across the System working with Technical Innovation & Stewardship (TI&S) functions, Business Units (Venturing & Emerging Brands, USA Operations, Minute Maid and Food Service on Premise) and Bottling Partners.


Collaborates within all areas of the Technical function to maintain knowledge and training content.

Build metrics that effectively evaluate success this is highly complex and requires a long term lens


Covering all BUs brings complexity driven by geographic breadth, differing sensitivities of portfolios, levels of capability across the system and the number of stakeholders.

Education Requirements: Masters Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field is required


Related Work Experience: 15+ years


Functional & Technical Skills:


Food Safety: Ability to understand physical, chemical and microbiological causes of food and water contamination and design strategies to address these risks to company products.


Thermal Processing: Knowledge of a variety of disciplines such as aseptic processing and validation, engineering, mathematics, food technology, chemistry, physics,


Regulations: Solid knowledge in FDA low acid and acidified food regulations.


Dairy & Plant based protein: Knowledge of dairy and plant-based protein Management, and ability to recognize inconsistencies.


Dairy and Soy Knowledge: Understanding of dairy ingredients, supply chains, product development, processing, regulatory requirements, microbiology and new technologies.


Quality Assurance Principles: Knowledge and application of quality principles in order to detect and correct non-conforming materials or processes using modern quality problem-solving tools.


Production Processes: Knowledge of beverage manufacturing processes. These include emulsification, blending solids, blending liquids or juices, carbonation, filling, water treatment, packaging, cleaning and sanitation, or refrigeration technologies.


Travel Requirements: 25-50%
