Job Summary

Food Safety & Quality Consulting Firm is seeking to hire a bright, energetic individual to fill an entry-level position of Associate Consultant. The focus of this position is to lead the implementation of Food Safety & Quality Management Systems in our clients’ operations and to help them in preparing for 3rd Party Audits (SQF, BRC, GMP, HACCP) and Regulatory Compliance (FSMA, FDA, USDA).

Initial Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of food manufacturing facilities in reference to general food safety standards and write inspection reports
  • Review food safety & quality records and note deviations in defined parameters or in proper record keeping practices
  • Implement the practical details of the system by conducting hands-on training in the manufacturing plant
  • Organize and oversee the practical development of the system
  • Conduct formal classroom training for employees in topics related to Food Safety & Food Defense
  • Inform and instruct managers and supervisors in the system requirements
  • Perform Internal Audits, Gap Analyses, Pre-Assessment Audits and to correctly identify and rate non-conformities in the clients’ system
  • Assist Consultants in the writing of HACCP Plans and Food Safety & Quality Procedures
  • Provide support to consultants in all aspects of client engagement
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other client deliverables
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Personal Attributes Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing plant
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and SQF Standards
  • Passion for helping small companies run better organized & more efficiently
  • Desire to learn
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Tri-State area and visit different sites daily
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
  • Self-motivated; able to work virtually and without direct supervision
  • Good communication skills; able to speak equally with top managers and line employees
  • Ability to get along with people yet also be assertive and direct

Required experience:

  • conducting employee training: 1 year
  • Writting & Update SOP/SSOP: 2 years
  • Food Safety & Quality Management System: 2 years
  • Development & Implementation of a HACCP Plan: 1 year
  • conducting facility inspection: 2 years
  • 3rd Party Food Audit and/or Regulatory Compliance: 2 years
  • Internal Auditing: 2 years

  • Spanish

Required licenses or certifications:

  • HACCP Cerification
  • FSMA/PCQI
  • SQF Cerification

Required travel:
