The Food Safety
Specialist acts as a liaison between enforcing and regulatory agencies, and
federal, state and municipal government. They will handle all matters
relating to public health protection and sanitation practices in the

Conduct periodic daily
inspections throughout company to ensure compliance with proper

Assist Claims Department with

illness and deliver it to an independent laboratory for analysis.
Provide periodic reporting of
key food safety and sanitation indicators including pest management.
Coordinate with pest control companies for pest control service and
insure proper state approved pesticides are used.
Coordinate with grease trap
cleaning company for proper cleaning of grease traps and that required
manifests are sent to City of Houston Health Department.
Periodically analyze family
size packages of hamburger meat to ensure compliance with state

Must be knowledgeable of
federal, state and municipal laws regarding food protection and rules
on retail food store sanitation. Must be knowledgeable of organisms

regulatory data and report regularly to company management along with
suggested action plans.
Support food safety in the
store; set and communicate expectations with regard to food safety;
continuously observe employee and management practices to ensure food
