Food Safety Auditor , Dig Inn - New York, NY

About the role:


The Food Safety Auditor is the standard bearer, the teacher and the validator for all things food safety in every DIG restaurant. You will travel between restaurants, performing internal audits with our restaurant leaders & teams to ensure standards are being met to the highest degree. You are a natural partner & collaborator with our Chefs, leaving each restaurant set up for success.


You Will:


Perform checks of each restaurant to ensure standards for quality, customer service, health and safety are met to the strictest of regulations.

Work cross functionally to ensure success & pass inspections at all restaurants.

Ensure that DIG adheres to all OSHA and DOH regulations.

Work closely with the field and bring back observations and input to create better systems.

Write detailed, thorough reports with clear action items for each restaurant and follow up on these action items and monitor progress.

Help maintain a database of all permits, licenses, & DOH/ServSafe Manager certification.

Monitor any recall and help implement processes to ensure recalls are executed.

Liaise with DIG’s Supply Center on food safety practices.

Assist restaurant leaders in training staff in proper closing cleaning procedures.

Help/manage waste management, grease and pest control contracts and relationships as well as initiate and maintain efforts to reduce waste.

Assist in zero waste compliance regarding trash, recycling, & compost.

Monitor and validate records and log temperatures for all refrigerated units.

Assist in emergency response plans that jeopardize food safety such as: power outages, no running water, equipment failure, etc.

You Have:


2+ years experience in the Food Quality/ Safety space.

Exemplary organizational skills, & the ability to manage data.

Excellent communication skills.

A knack for the details. No problem goes unfixed on your watch.

A natural ability to solve problems and see them through from start to finish.

A can do attitude. No project is too small or too big. You love the challenges.

Knowledge of rules and regulations surrounding Health Code, Building Code, Fire Code, HACCP and food safety.

Your NYC Food Protection Certificate.

A basic knowledge of city licensing agencies and basic mechanical skills.

An entrepreneurial spirit - you are a self starter and can hit the ground running with minimal direction.

A high level of integrity- you build and maintain trust with everyone you interact with.

The ability to work flexible hours. You will travel between all DIG locations with a can do attitude with limited travel to other markets.

The ability to perform physical requirements of the position (lift up to 50lbs).
