Job Title: Manager, Sanitation
Location: Jay, OK
Type: Full Time, Exempt
Hours: Sunday-Friday; 10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.; Some weekends required

Cooks Venture is seeking a Sanitation Manager to join us in our mission to change the world through food! As part of our start-up team, you'll be a key player in ensuring Cooks Venture fulfills our promise to deliver only the best in quality products to our customers.

As Sanitation Manager, you will:

  • Perform daily sanitation of all processing lines
  • Promote a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all
  • Ensure that staff are informed of corporate safety requirements and that safety is a priority in day to day functions
  • Ensure food safety and food defense in the plant
  • Direct and coordinate all daily sanitation activities within the processing plant as well as the grounds surrounding the processing plant
  • Implement all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness, food safety and pest control with the facility
  • Manage and maintain a supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and USDA regulations
  • Interact with third party auditors to facilitate Food Safety audits within the plant
  • Develop and implement new methods, procedures, and systems to improve quality and food safety performance, determine and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain training and development programs that support key performance goals for the Company, as well as provide a satisfying and rewarding work environment for team members
  • Train sanitation team in best practices, safety and the proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Execute daily scheduling and efficient resource allocation
  • Complete daily sanitation logs, performance reports and shift paperwork
  • Follow Cooks Venture values to develop and maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees
  • Perform other projects, initiatives, and tasks as directed by leadership


Physical Activities:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may bend, stoop and be on feet for extended periods of time; will move between hot and wet environment to cold and wet environment

Technical Experience:

  • Must be able to read and write English

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Excellent math skills, reading, writing and computer knowledge; High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-year experience in food sanitation operations, procedures, chemicals and program standards, preferably in a general food or manufacturing industry
