Food Safety Technical Partner - Battle Creek, MI

As a Food Safety Technical Partner, we want your passion and expertise to protect our brands and consumers. You will provide technical support to the plant and corporate teams, and build a strong partnership to ensure safety of our products from end to end. This role assures adherence to and continuous improvement of the facility’s Food Safety Plan and key food safety programs such as Allergen, Environmental Monitoring, and Lethality Programs.



  • Drive Results - Leading the development, sustainability, and execution of effective food safety programs at the facilities. Monitoring the effectiveness (retention and knowledge application) and adherence of food safety programs by proactively assessing through plant visits and audits.
  • Proactive Mindset - Conducting risk assessment to identify, monitor, correct, and eliminate food safety gaps. Being the primary contact for plant investigations of food safety incidents.
  • Collaborate, Grow & Develop - Building food safety capability at plants (internal and external manufacturing) and corporate through training and coaching.
  • Compliance - Ensuring FSMA compliance and monitoring regulatory compliance issues in assigned regions and food categories; assessing potential risks, and escalating to management as warranted. Participating in the Manufacturing Quality & Food Safety internal audits and regulatory inspections. Providing support and guidance to external manufacturers ensuring that they fully meet Kellogg’s food safety standards.




  • Maintain an owner’s mindset and act decisively
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
  • Knowledge and experience in food safety plans, allergen management, food defense, and environmental monitoring
  • Knowledge of US and international food safety regulations
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem solving to drive the business forward
  • Manage issues with simplicity but proactively to improve the process and protect our brands and consumers


Bonus Points:

  • Master of Science Degree and/or Ph.D. in Food Science & Technology, Microbiology or relevant discipline
  • Experience working with manufacturing plants
  • Are you ready to share your knowledge? We are looking for a strong leader who builds the knowledge and capability of others and the organization and anticipates future capability needs
  • PCQI/HACCP certification a plus
  • Experience developing and training on Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge on Lab Management and GFSI standards (SQF & FSSC)
