General Summary

This position is responsible for the development and facilitation of quality-based training and compliance and improvement activities. The position resides in Quality COE and supports all business units.

Responsibilities include developing and delivering training modules, working with manufacturing QA to optimize existing plant training, and in plant assessments/events to drive improvement in core quality systems areas. Individual requires quality systems knowledge, ideally with plant experience. Knowledge of regulatory, customer, certifying bodies and our company requirements will be used to perform a variety of duties including execution of processes & protocols for compliance and training.

The position will also design and deliver training for standard revisions, and changes to regulatory or certifying body expectations. The employee will identify gaps and process improvement opportunities. The individual will manage the compliance gap database and associated tracking and reporting Employee must be able to effectively and independently plan and prioritize work. This position requires proficiency in communication, training, and improvement analytics & techniques.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver training modules to support standard revisions, Food Safety topics and changing regulatory and customer requirements
  • Identify and manage relationships with external training partners and facilitate training sessions
  • Facilitate compliance and improvement events in support of critical Quality systems
  • Work with manufacturing quality teams to elevate and standardize trainings where appropriate
  • Support delivery of software training tools for manufacturing
  • Manage compliance gap database and associated tracking and reporting
  • Execute focused audits and assessments of corporate and manufacturing requirements and processes
  • Execute and maintain the material control and trace training program and expand program to other manufacturing critical activities.
  • Partner with appropriate HR leads in manufacturing and corporate. Develop all-employee onboarding training to promote awareness in Quality and Food Safety.
  • Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in current quality programs and work with BUs and manufacturing to improve
  • Maintain awareness of changing regulatory and customer requirements with communication as needed to manage


Job Complexity

  • Proficient in communication and training skills.
  • Ability to work with technical subject matter experts to compile accurate and complete information as needed
  • Proficient in gathering appropriate information from multiple cross functional sources and creating concise summaries.
  • Familiarity with adult learning techniques
  • Solid knowledge of Quality systems and related programs
  • Strength in translating compliance gaps into needed improvement actions.
  • Experienced judgement to determine when escalation is needed due to risk or proprietary information.
  • Ability to influence the right leader(s) to initiate continuous improvement projects, achieving engagement and alignment with process stakeholders.


Job Specifications

  • BS Food Science Degree or related Science degree
  • 3 or more years food industry quality plant/systems experience
  • Dedicated work habits, takes initiative, sets high standard
  • Ability to multi-task, successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Sharepoint and Adobe Acrobat Writer a plus
  • Experience with cross-functional business processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Approximately 20% travel
  • Ability to work independently on assignments
