Job Title: Quality Systems Food Technologist

Department: Quality

Reports to: Quality and Technical Services Manager

Summary

Haliburton International Foods seeks to hire a Quality Systems Food Technologist to carry out the following duties:

  • Review all Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring and verification records for compliance with critical limits and frequencies;
  • Monitor HACCP and PRPs to ensure procedures are properly carried out;
  • Review and verify all records for completeness and accuracy and determine needs for process improvements;
  • Participate in HACCP meeting and HACCP reviews;
  • Ensure all Food Safety and Quality related documents are controlled and current forms are in use;
  • Maintain accurate document register;
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to analyze processes, identify trends and abnormalities and continuously evaluate the plant programs for improvement;
  • Manage corrective actions for CCP and PRP deviations;
  • Coordinate with the QA Manager and Regulatory Manager with all 3rd party food safety and quality audits;
  • Assist with regulatory hold and release programs;
  • Troubleshoot food safety and quality problems on the production floor;
  • Ensure safety compliance with organizations policy, State and Federal regulations and oversee and ensure the cleanliness of the work environment;
  • Enforce HACCP, SOP and GMP procedures and commit to food safety as well as personal protective equipment (PPE) for safety purposes.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements

 

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS in Food Science, Biology or Nutrition
  • two years experience with food safety or quality in a food manufacturing environment;
  • HACCP and PCQI certified or ability to obtain certification;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook

 

Physical Demands/work environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, work in varying production environments (hot or cold), stand and walk for long periods of time and withstand strong odors from the foods being processed. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
