Food Safety Coordinator


Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for ongoing support for the LIMS system. Plan, schedule, and execute plant-wide quality audits. Interface with Corporate Quality as needed. Build and maintain a positive relationship with various regulatory agencies. Support special projects and trials as needed. Provide backup support to the Quality and Sanitation departments as necessary. Emphasize and show by example the importance of sanitation and hygiene to fellow employees. Report any unsanitary work conditions to the QA Manager/QA Supervisor/Sanitation Manager.

The individual will cooperate with management, supervisors and production personnel to aid in the resolution of quality related problems Report all problems, abnormalities, and deviations from established policies, procedures, and specifications to the QA Manager/QA Supervisor. Responsible to adhere to quality system requirements. Maintain awareness of customer focus. Develop, Maintain and Perform Quality Training as required by EQMS Maintain Out of Specification Database Other duties as assigned.


Required Experience – Education:

  • Associate Degree and a minimum of 2 years working in a food-related manufacturing environment, dairy preferred
  • Possess strong oral and written communications skills to communicate effectively with supplies and all levels.
  • Solid knowledge in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.


Required Competencies and skills:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate and actively listen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write routine reports and interpret safety, quality, operating, and maintenance instructions.
  • Must be agile and able to shift gracefully when priorities change
  • Must be attentive to detail and have good organizational skills
  • Be a self-directed worker, as well as a team player



  • Experience communicating work order progress to Supervisor and Production Operators
  • Knowledge of various pieces of high-tech food manufacturing processing and packaging equipment – i.e. baggers, palletizers, Butter Room etc.



Working in a Manufacturing environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 55 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.

Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required.

The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Hours: 7 AM - 4:30 AM, this role may require occasional over time and weekends
