A Day in the Life of a FSQA Senior Scientist:
effective execution of Ocean Spray Food Safety and Quality Assurance
(‘FSQA’) Standards across Ocean Spray Contract Manufacturing, Licensing
and Strategic Alliance Partnerships (‘Partners’) in North America.
new Partners’ FSQA approval process via audits/assessments.
regular audits and FSQ meetings at partner’s locations to ensure
compliance with standards set forth in Ocean Spray’s FSQA Manual for
Contract Manufacturing partners.
and assist with technical change processes at Partner locations.
FSQA testing requirements and guidelines for partners to ensure
specification compliance over time (e.g. Positive Release and HACCP
FSQA support during commissioning of new products, packages, changes in
the voice for FSQA on cross-functional project teams and provide the
appropriate guidance and support in the execution of projects.
routine quality activities such as supplier complaints; lot and code
tracing; monitor holds; review plant problems and issue new formulas.

What We Are Looking For:
in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry or
related field. Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in Food
Safety, Quality Assurance and/or Product Development. MS/Ph.D. a plus.
in CPG industry plant environment with an understanding of manufacturing
processes and supply chain quality.
good working knowledge in the areas of Quality Systems, Certifications and
Auditing Protocols. Knowledge and understanding of FDA (FSMA) and USDA
requirements. Knowledge of dietary supplement regulations a plus.
safety experience within food, beverage or adjacent industry including
but not limited to microbiology, foreign material, allergen control,
traceability, and others.
