Food Safety & Compliance Manager - Miami

The position will assist in the
implementation and maintenance of food safety policies, quality assurance
standards, processes, and controls in compliance with SQF, GMPs, HACCP,
general food safety, and company regulatory standards for the company’s Miami
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Direct and supervise the
development, implementation and administration of QA
activities in all phases of production at factory level while managing
sourcing standards that adhere to the company’s policies ? Maintain our food
and beverage safety program and quality assurance standards as required by
government, SQF guidelines, and overall food safety and quality standards ?
Conduct internal monthly inspections and daily walk through of the facility in order to ensure that personnel and operations are in
compliance with our policies and standards. ? Ensure that raw materials,
materials-in-process, and finished goods meet quality and safety
specifications ? Collect samples (raw materials, finished goods, environmental)
and send them to appropriate parties for testing/analysis ? Monitor our pest
control program, cleaning and sanitation program per
our master schedule ? Provide training to our staff regarding food safety,
quality assurance and corrective actions ? Continuous improvement of our food
and beverage safety program, product quality and any areas that may need
improvement ? Ensure all laboratory equipment is in good working condition
and calibrate as needed ? Conduct investigations for customer complaints and non conformities and implement
effective corrective/preventive actions ? Support/manage governmental (FDA,
Local Health Department), SQF, Organic NOP, third party and other
inspections/audits ? Operate independently of day-to-day operations (maintaining
independence from all production personnel); report
to Director of Food Safety & Compliance ? Assist with and oversee special
projects as directed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ? College degree in Food Science or
related science equivalent degree ? Minimum 1-2 years of Food safety
background/experience required ? Knowledge in HACCP, GFSI (SQF, BRC), FSSC
22000, or ISO 22000 as well as allergen controls ? PCQI certification
preferred ? Bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: ? Knowledgeable in US regulations (FDA,
USDA) pertaining to food and beverage manufacturing, storage
and handling ? Well versed in current FSMA guidelines ? Ability to develop,
implement and maintain our SQF and Quality Programs (GMP, HACCP, SOP) ?
Ability to create, review and interpret technical documents such as
specification sheets, certifications, maintenance instructions and procedures
? Ability to develop methods of analysis (physico-chemical
and sensory) for raw materials, product in process and finished goods ?
Proficient in Excel along with other Microsoft Office/Google Suite programs ?
Identifies and resolves problems using strong logical and analytical skills ?
Ability to train individuals and groups, and measurement of training effects
? Strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented, strong attention to detail ?
Ability to organize work, establish priorities, work independently, use time
efficiently, and meet aggressive timelines with minimal supervision ?
Excellent written and oral communications skills ? Enjoys coffee and is
interested in developing sensory skills
