Site Safety Manager

This position is based out of our office in Salt Lake
City, UT, and reports to our Project Controls Manager. It is responsible for
implementing and monitoring compliance to the SNC-Lavalin Construction Health
& Safety Management Plan. You will be a part of a team that works on fast
paced technically complex design/build projects in biotech, pharmaceutical,
chemical and food industries.
How will you contribute to the team?
site-specific safety orientation, ERP and StepBack
training for all site personnel and visitors.
Contractor pre-mobilization meetings prior to onset of work activities.
contractors have the competent resources on-site with appropriate
subcontractors' project-specific safe work plans (lifts, falls, CSE,
excavation, LOTO, etc.).
contractor risks assessments (Job Safety Analyses, SNC Lavalin StepBack)
with client/contractor safety representative to ensure that Health and
Safety processes are incorporated.
necessary supply, operation, and availability of safety, first aid,
medical and firefighting equipment.
periodic site safety inspections. Lead Health & Safety site
inspection with SNC-Lavalin Managers.
and post monthly H&S statistics (hours worked, leading & lagging
a daily Health & Safety activity log.
monthly Health & Safety Audit.
monitor, and maintain Safe Work Permits (hot work, LOTO, CSE, etc.).
work-site maintenance (housekeeping, sanitary facilities, break area,
traffic control, security).
disciplinary measures when required, interrupt work if necessary.
in the Incident Investigation process when they occur.
in weekly construction coordination meetings.
periodic foreman meetings and site-wide H&S meetings.
and maintain Health & Safety Communication Boards (Health and Safety
issues using posters, notices).
proper reporting of workplace hazards. Report Imminent Dangers where
proper risk assessments have been conducted and hazards control measures
corrective action list. Ensure prompt and appropriate follow-up on
Construction Manager on contractor non-compliance to Health & Safety
Behavior Interventions to improve safety culture.
the Emergency Response Plan. Conduct periodic drills.
subcontractors Health & Safety paperwork is submitted on-time and
record keeping is accurate.
the Positive Incentives Program.
What will you contribute?
5 years' experience in similar role.
1926 Construction 30-hour card or greater.
assessment training and experience in the construction field.
Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint experience.
to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
