We are actively recruiting for a National Accounts Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager to join our team! This person will oversee Food Safety and Quality Management systems specifically related to all aspects of Chick Fil A and other Fresh based National Accounts as assigned as well as the following:

  • Provide executive reporting and engagement with customer and corporate leadership
  • Communicate weekly quality issues, inventory on hold and other key CFA information to all levels of the organization Organize and manage all testing including thaw data in a timely basis.
  • Exercises authority to take control of product and process if products and or processes are not in spec.
  • Takes the lead on all customer engagement calls, meeting and or written communication to issues or feed back

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams when problem solving issues related to the production, storage and release of CFA products. (QA, Operations, R&D, and Marketing/Sales). Measure and communicate progress as a problem moves towards a lasting solution.
  • Assist Operations, R&D, Quality with understanding process capability relating to CFS specs.
  • Provide Food Safety guidance to operations. Responsibility (shared) for MRSI in all FP plants
  • Maintain strong professional relationships across plant locations, Sales, Marketing, Vendors, Key customers, Co-Packers, to enable responsive partnerships

Minimum Education

  • BS degree or equivalent related work experience preferably in Food Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Business Management, Biology, Chemistry

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ yeras of relevant experience, with minimum of 3 years in food industry specifically, poultry industry strongly preferred
  • 5+ years with direct customer interface and support around Quality and Food Safety
  • 5+ yeras in progressive management or leadership roles
  • Experience with execution and monitoring of defined quality specifications within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing and maintaing documentation and comapny records relating to process work flows, USDA, FDA and other regulatory organizations
  • Thorough understanding of HACCP and GFSI programs/audit schemes
  • Ability to effectively articulate and present that company's Food Safety and Quality strategy as it relates to senior management, regulatory bodies, customers and copackers
  • Proven ability to operate successfully in a rapidly growing organization, inclusive of demonstrated ability to coordinate effort in addressing customer issues. Ability to formulate solutions from a broad perspective.
  • Sound technical writing skills
  • Requires an excellent executive presentation and communication skills with the ability to inspire and inform.
  • Understands statistical process control techniques to communicate trends and facilitate early warning alerts for product specification compliance

Experience Preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Prior poultry experience preferred

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position can be sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

When in a plant environment:

Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degree to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company

Work environment can include, but not limited to, moving in an upright position and working on soil. Must be able to lift, control, and carry 70 lbs. Exposure to temperature ranges of <28 to 100 Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. Exposure to noise ranges to <50 db to >100 db and light intensity range of <50 to >100 foot candles. Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting and grasping varies in repetitions, distances, degrees, angles, weights, height, intervals of time, objects grasped and body positions depending upon the task being performed. Exposure to , ammonia vapors , dust and other chemicals found in poultry houses. Normal exposure to chemicals listed in MSDS sheets which are available in the Live Production Office.
