You’ll work closely with regional sales teams to drive revenue growth and profitability while achieving sales goals for listed accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, high energy teammate to grow business with major retailers.


Location: Remote. Home based within region.

Midwest region includes: IL, MN, IA, WI

Reports to: Director of Sales

Direct Reports: Associate KAM

  • Drive accounts to achieve program objectives, annual volume goals and profitability targets in support of Talking Rain’s strategy (e.g. Jewel-Osco, Roundy’s IL/WI, Hy-Vee, Festival Foods, Piggly Wiggly, Sendik’s, Woodman’s, Kowalski’s, Lund’s & Byerly’s.
  • Develop business plans for new and established accounts in alignment with the Director of Sales - MWZ executing with support from our functional teams and tracking progress through KPIs, including annual and monthly sales objectives.
  • Partner with our regional sales team members who support development of your assigned customers, learning the ins and outs of their days and coaching them on opportunities for the business.
  • Stay current on the state of the market, leveraging our reporting tools to analyze and communicate monthly progress updates to both internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with our Integrated Marketing team to ensure we capture all opportunities with customer marketing programs, partnering on key sales proposals, trade show events, and other support collateral.
  • Support all CMA programs, partnering with our Acosta Team to leverage local selling opportunities.
  • Develop annual budgets, monitoring throughout the year for opportunities for greater efficiency and cost efficiencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors and leading customer strategies.
  • Ensure food safety, quality, and SQF practices are followed at all times, notifying immediate manager of any food safety and/or quality issues.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of recent experience managing sales for key accounts. Experience selling a non-alcoholic beverage preferred, selling food or CPG a plus.
  • Understanding of syndicated data metrics and the ability to turn them into comprehensive selling stories is critical. Additional experience with direct retailer sources (IRI, Vermont Information Processing, Shelvspace, Power BI) is preferred.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.
  • Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs. repetitively and up to 75 lbs. occasionally, as well as to push and pull up to 100 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to work remotely. Home base in the Midwest Region: IL, IA, MN, IL required.

Please note, this role is safety-sensitive. This means that as part of your core responsibilities, you will be regularly responsible for your own safety, the safety of others (e.g., driving on behalf of the company, working in a warehouse/plant environment).
