Description
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology, Regulatory, or
related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing Food
Safety and Regulatory Compliance in a large scale
retail grocery distribution environment;
- Deep,
demonstrated knowledge of retail food safety standards and regulations
governing the grocery industry and experience interacting with the
federal, state, and local regulators including USDA, FDA, state
agencies, and local health departments;
- Strong
verbal and written communication skills;
- Exceptional
organizational skills;
- Ability
to work independently and autonomously;
- Experience
leveraging technology to drive process improvements;Demonstrated collaborative skills
and ability to work well within a team, including adherence to core
values and dynamic corporate culture;
- Self-motivated
with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting;
- Demonstrated
experience creating sustainable processes;
- Ability
to travel domestically up to 40%.
We are looking for an experienced
Food Safety Operations Manager with the ability to identify opportunities,
influence operations and business teams, and overcome resistance by creating
strong, persuasive, balanced positions through the use of data. You have a
track record of implementing food safety compliance programs within a
business. You have an exceptional attention to detail and can drive
end-to-end process requirements, program implementation, and continuous
improvement. You have the ability to communicate food safety and compliance
expectations and requirements to business leaders and cross-functional
support teams at all levels of the organization. You also are skilled at
writing well-reasoned and data-driven white papers, leveraging science,
research, and industry best practices as appropriate.
You have exceptional problem-solving skills and manage crisis events with
quick, high-judgment decisions.
In this role you will support the UFF/Fresh/Prime Now business leaders in
ensuring that retail operations comply with federal, state, and local
regulatory standards. At a high level, you will:
- Develop
and enhance Food Safety Operations programs for UFF/Fresh/Prime Now
businesses;
- Risk
assess UFF/Fresh/Prime Now operational processes within sites, design
and execute compliance interventions, leverage auditing mechanisms, and
analyze regulatory impacts of business models;
- Work
with Legal to provide food safety and compliance direction to
Operations;
- Write
policies, standards, and SOPs for UFF/Fresh/Prime Now processes and
procedures; create and implement training programs to drive regulatory
compliance execution at the site level;
- Drive
food safety compliance across UFF/Fresh/Prime Now businesses by using
data to identify compliance trends;
- Write
and edit business review documents to update business stakeholders about
Food Safety and Compliance initiatives and performance of their
respective business;
- Create
and monitor business metrics to track compliance and process
effectiveness and define cadence of reporting to businesses and
stakeholder groups;
- 7+
years of experience managing Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance in a large scale grocery retail/distribution environment;
- Experience
using and suggesting improvements to facility audit tracking systems,
regulatory contact management software, or product management technology
- HACCP
plan development experience (basic and/or advanced HACCP training);
- Experience
with regulatory requirements relating to transportation of food
- Experience
as a health inspector, auditor, or online/retail grocery industry
experience
For employees based in Colorado,
this position starts at $98,000 to 148,000/yr. A sign-on bonus and restricted
stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition
to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the
