OBJECTIVE: The primary goal of this position is to assist the Safety Manager in the auditing of all processes for safety and efficiency purposes. This position will create and maintain effective process procedures that assure all activities occur in a safe, consistent method that promotes quality, safety, and bio-security guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires current First Aid and CPR certification (at a minimum), with a minimum of a HS diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations and work place safety requirements.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong organizational and human relations skills are a must. Must be able to work with supervisors and team members to attain safety and production related goals. Basic computer knowledge is required, with the ability to learn Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point). Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be willing and able to speak to and train large groups of people.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) that assure that safe and consistent processes are used throughout the Feed and Animal division.
  • Conduct safety audits of facilities as assigned by the Safety Manager.
  • Assist the Safety Manager in conducting safety trainings as directed.
  • Maintain the written safety programs for the Feed and Animal Division.
  • Track all things safety in the industry safe program.
  • Maintain DOT files for compliance.
  • Maintain SOP catalogs for all areas and create an auditing process to assure accuracy.
  • Maintain an active role in safety-related activities (committees, trainings, etc.) at the Feed and Animal Division.
  • Promote the Cooper Culture through trainings and personal demonstration.
  • Maintain an active interest in performance level, attendance, and attitude.
  • Follow all safety practices and protocols.
  • Perform all duties as apparent or assigned.
